Core Functions
To achieve its objectives, the Veterinary Council shall:

Regulate the practice of veterinary medicine in the country.

Issue certificates of registration to qualified veterinarians and veterinary paraprofessionals.

License premises for the practice of veterinary medicine.

Maintain and publish a register of:
- Veterinarians
- Veterinary paraprofessionals
- Veterinary practices, businesses, and institutions

Regulate the training of veterinary and veterinary paraprofessional students in the country.

Issue a code of conduct or ethics for veterinary practice.

Establish enforcement structures for the code of conduct or ethics.

Approve continuing professional development (CPD) programmes recognized by the Council.

Perform any other function that is ancillary to the object of the Council.
